Carpathian Labor Party

The Carpathian Labor Party (the Carpathian Labor Party of low-land and landless ) is one of the Russian parties of Subcarpathian Rus as part of Czechoslovakia . Adhered to agar and center-left orientation.

The party was organized in 1920 at the initiative of the leaders of the Galician-Russian movement Andrei Gagatko and Illarion Tsurkanovich .

The party program provided for the expansion of the autonomy of Subcarpathian Rus within Czechoslovakia , the expansion of its territory at the expense of the Spissky , Sharishsky and Zemplinsky zhups, the introduction of the Russian language as an official language in institutions and schools. In the social sphere, the party made equalizing demands on the model of the Russian Socialist Revolutionaries (since it was under the influence of Ekaterina Breshko-Breshkovskaya , who lived in Uzhgorod ). The newspaper was the newspaper "Russian Land" ( 1919 - 1938 ). In 1923, the party merged with the Carpathian Agricultural Republican Party, in 1925 it stood out again.

In the elections of 1924 and 1925, she spoke in a bloc with the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party (which was called the Czechoslovak Socialist Party until 1926 ), together gathered 20,068 (8%) and 15,759 (6.4%) votes, respectively. A. Gagatko became a deputy of the lower house of the Czechoslovak parliament.

In the 1929 election , together with the Russian People’s Union, she created the Russian Bloc, which spoke with the right Czechoslovak National Democratic Party, Karel Kramář. Together they collected 48 609 (18.3%) of the vote. Illarion Tsurkanovich became a senator from KTP in the Czechoslovak parliament in 1929 - 1935 .
