History

By a resolution of the Presidium of the Barnaul City Council on February 9, 1938, 3 districts were formed in Barnaul: Zheleznodorozhny, Tsentralny and Oktyabrsky. On March 31, 1972, by allocating parts of the Zheleznodorozhny and Oktyabrsky districts, a new Leninsky district of the city was formed. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR on April 5, 1978, due to the separation of the residential sector from the Zheleznodorozhny and Leninsky districts of the city of Barnaul, a fifth district was created - Industrial.
