Toda (Toda) is an ethnic group in South India , one of the 18 indigenous "tribes" of the Nilgiri Mountains (Blue Mountains). Total number - not more than 1,400 people (2000). The Toda language belongs to the Dravidian family , the written language is Tamil . The number of carriers in 2000 is 600 people.

Traditional Toda Dwelling
The tribe differs from other locals in lighter skin and curly hair. Traditional food is vegan . Currently, on the lands formerly owned by the tribe, the city of Ooty , a famous mountain resort, is located.
The main traditional occupation is cattle breeding.
