Portable road safety camera. It is connected by radio with the control panel in a police car.
Traffic safety camera - a system that includes a camera and a device that automatically detects violations of traffic rules , for example, a car exceeding the travel speed allowed on a given site. Various implementation options are possible depending on the types of violations recorded.
- Speed cameras are used to record the fact of speeding . They can be portable (mobile). To determine the speed of a moving car, a radar is usually used [1] . Sometimes pairs of chambers can be used at a distance from each other, measuring the average speed [2] .
- Red signal cameras ( English Red light camera ) remove cars that drove off the line after the red traffic light came on.
- Bus lane cameras ( Bus lane cameras ) define cars that drive along the road lane reserved for bus traffic. In some US states , car lanes are also allowed in these lanes.
- Toll-booth cameras identify vehicles that have passed through a control post without paying a fee .
- Level crossing cameras determine the cars that crossed the railway crossing with a barrier with a violation.
- Congestion charge cameras are used to record the fact of free travel to the congested territory (a fee is charged to restrict traffic in large cities, such as London ).
- Double white line camera intersection cameras capture cars crossing a double solid line.
There are combined systems: for example, there are cameras that detect the passage of red light and speeding.
