Biography

Born August 23, 1943 in the village. Yukamenskoye, Yukamensky district, Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic [1] .

In 1965, he graduated from the Engineering and Technical Department of Yakutsk State University [2] .

In 1975 - he defended his thesis, topic: "Geological and geochemical preconditions of oil and gas potential of the Upper Paleozoic sediments of the northern part of the Leno-Vilyui province" [2] .

In 1994 - defended his doctoral dissertation, topic: “Natural bitumens and bituminous rocks of the north-east of the Siberian platform (geology, geochemistry, genesis)” [2] .

In 2000, he was elected a corresponding member of the RAS [2] .

After graduation, he works in divisions of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (hereinafter referred to as RAS) [1] :

  • from 1965 to 1999 - Institute of Geological Sciences, Yakutsk Branch of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (RAS) - laboratory assistant, junior, senior researcher, head of the laboratory of physicochemical methods of hydrocarbons (since 1986), deputy director (since 1996);
  • from 1999 to 2005 - Institute of Oil and Gas Problems of the Joint Institute for Physical and Technical Problems of the North SB RAS, Deputy Director;
  • from 2005 to the present - Institute of Oil and Gas Geology of the Joint Institute of Geology, Geophysics and Mineralogy SB RAS, Deputy Director for Research (since 2006 - A. A. Trofimuk Institute of Oil and Gas Geology and Geophysics SB RAS ).

From 1994 to 2005, he taught at the Department of Macromolecular Compounds and Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Biology and Geography, Yakutsk State University [1] .

Scientific activity

He is studying the organic geochemistry of biomarker molecules in the dispersed organic matter of fossil deposits and their evolution in the process of oil and bitumen formation [1] .

Conducts research in the field of regional geology of oil and gas, is engaged in determining the conditions for the formation of deposits of natural bitumen and oil shale in Yakutia and several other regions [1] .

Under his leadership, work was carried out to study the geological structure and geochemistry of oil and gas complexes in the east of the Siberian Platform, which made it possible to assess the oil and gas potential of both Western and Eastern Siberia [1] .

He conducted research on the geochemistry of rare (RE) and rare-earth (REE) elements in the coals of the Lensky basin, studied the possible mechanisms of accumulation of RE and REE in coal seams. Together with other scientists, he identified the Zhiganskoye coal-bearing province with rare-earth mineralization and substantiated a new type of REE deposits, hydrogenic at sorption barriers [1] .

Participation in scientific and organizational work [1]

  • Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Council of the A. A. Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics SB RAS (since 2005);
  • Member of the Presidium of the Yakut Scientific Center of the SB RAS;
  • Member of the Academic Council of Yakutsk State University;
  • scientific secretary of the East Siberian block of the state scientific and technical program "Siberia", subprogram "Oil and Gas of Eastern Siberia" (since 1978);
  • member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (since 1992) and the European Association of Organic Geochemists;
  • Invited consultant in the oil companies British Petroleum, Maxus and Shell for joint work;
  • Member of the editorial boards of the journals "Geology and Geophysics", "Chemistry and Chemical Technology", "Science and Technology in Yakutia."
