Triandrias [3] ( Greek Τριανδρία ) is a city in Greece, a suburb of Thessaloniki . It belongs to the community (dim) of Thessaloniki in the peripheral unit of Thessaloniki in the periphery of Central Macedonia . The population of 9986 residents according to the 2011 census [2] . An area of 1,475 square kilometers [1] .

It is located east of the historic center of Thessaloniki, the Kavtanzoglu National Stadium, the university campus of Aristotle University and District 40 Ecklion [3] . In the east it borders with the Ano-Tumba region [3] . It hosts the International Exhibition in Thessaloniki .
The name received from the Greek. τριανδρία - a triumvirate in honor of the leaders of the People's Defense Movement in Thessaloniki during the period of the National Schism - Panagiotis Danglis , Pavlos Kunturiiotis and Eleftherios Venizelos .
The city was founded by refugees from Asia Minor in 1915. After a fire in Thessaloniki in 1917, its population was replenished with fire victims. In 1919, the inhabitants of Russia fled here. After the Asia Minor catastrophe in 1922, the population was replenished with refugees from Asia Minor and Thrace.
In 1983, the community (dim) of Triandrias was created. In 2008, according to the Kapodistrias plan, the community was abolished and became part of the Thessaloniki community.

Church of St. Spyridon
The church was created in 1922 by refugees from Asia Minor and Thrace. In 1948, a new church of St. Spyridon was opened in its place. During the earthquake of 1978, the church suffered significant damage. On its foundation in 1991 a new church was opened.
