Biography
A.V. Popov was born on July 25, 1950 in the village of Bolshelug in the Kortkerossky region of the Komi ASSR . After graduating from Storozhevskaya secondary school he worked at the Vishersky state farm. In 1969-1971 he served in the Soviet Army, as part of the air assault brigade, which was located in the Amur Region . Then he wrote his first story, which was called "Age of the draft." It was published in the Voiviv Kodzuv magazine in the April 1971 issue. Since July 1971 he has been working in the media of the Komi ASSR: in the regional newspapers Zvezda, Vperyod, On the republican television, radio, in the republican newspapers Komi mu , Yulga . in the magazines " Chushkansi ", " Howling Kodzuv ." Since 2003, the chief editor of the republican literary and children's art magazine " Bikin " ("Sparkle"). In 1980, he graduated in absentia from the historical department of the Syktyvkar State University named after Pitirim Sorokin .
Creativity
The author of more than ten books of prose and thirty plays. Tales and short stories were published in the magazines Sever, Rural Youth, the weekly Literary Russia and other periodicals. Prose works and plays have been translated into Mari , Udmurt , Tatar , Chuvash , Komi-Permyak , Khakass and other languages of the peoples of Russia , as well as Finnish , French , Bulgarian , Estonian and Hungarian . His stories were published in Russian editions of Germany and the USA . Nine plays were staged based on plays at the Syktyvkar State Academic Drama Theater named after Victor Savin of the Komi Republic. Performances based on his plays are on the stage of the Komi Republican Music and Drama Theater, in other theaters of Russia, as well as in Bulgaria and France .
