Peter Komlos ( Hungarian Komlós Péter , October 25, 1935 ; Budapest , Hungary - May 2, 2017 ) - Hungarian violinist and music teacher.

He studied at the Budapest Academy of Music under Leo Weiner . After graduating from the academy in 1957, he founded a string quartet, originally called the Komlos quartet after the first violin, and in 1962 called the Bartok Quartet [2] [3] . In this ensemble, which became a particularly famous performance of the works of his patron Bela Bartok , Komlos was the permanent first violin [4] . He played the violin in 1731 by Stradivarius [3] .
Peter Komlosh is a professor at the Liszt Budapest Academy of Music [5] [6] . Among his students are Istvan Kadar , Antal Shalai [7] and other notable Hungarian violinists. Komlos was considered one of the outstanding masters and authorities in the musical life of Hungary [5] .
