Biography
Five times she won at the Indian Women's Chess Championships (1985, 1986, 1988, 1991, 1994). In 1991, she won the Asian Women's Chess Championship . In 1984, together with Vasanti Unni, she won the UK Women's Chess Championship [1] . In 2000, in New Delhi, she took part in the Women's World Chess Championship in knocking , where she lost to Peng Zhaoqin in the first round [2] .
Represented the national team of India in the largest team chess tournaments:
- participated in chess competitions nine times (1980-1990, 1994-1998);
- participated in the Asian Chess Championship in 2003 [3] .
The winner of the highest sports awards of India " Padma Shri " and " Arjuna ". She married Indian chess grandmaster Pravina Tipsey . He works in the management of the Indian Industrial Development Bank of India in Mumbai .
