Chernivetsky district ( Ukrainian: Chernіvetsky district ) - an administrative unit in the south-west of Vinnitsa region of Ukraine . The administrative center is the urban-type village of Chernivtsi .

Geography
Area - 590 km 2 (27th among districts). The main rivers are the Murafa .
History
The area was created by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Ukraine N502-XII of November 28, 1990 by separation from the Mogilev-Podolsky district of Vinnitsa region. He began his activities on January 03, 1991.
Demographics
The population of the district is 22 561 people (as of June 1, 2013), including the urban population of 2 857 people (12.66%), the rural population - 19 694 people (87.34%).
