A native of Seville , Andalusia , Adrian played as a striker and left midfielder as a child, but at the age of 10 he began to play as a goalkeeper ^[2] . He performed at the academy of the Real Betis club, including the third and second members of the club.

In 2008, it was rented by the Alcala club, for which he spent 5 matches, and the next year he acted on loan on behalf of the Utrera club.

In the 2011/12 season, he was included in the Betis main squad, but in November 2011 he received a severe injury to the cruciate ligaments of the knee, which is why he missed six months ^[3] .

On September 29, 2012, Adrian made his La Liga debut against Malaga , replacing Salvador Agra after Betis goalkeeper Casto was removed in the 10th minute. The minority Real Betis conceded four unrequited goals ^{[3] [4]} . Later he made his way into the main club. November 24 of the same year was recognized as the best player of the match against Real Madrid ^[5] . In total, in the 2012/13 season, Adrian played 32 matches for Betis in the championship, 11 of them keeping their goal “dry”, and Real Betis finished the season in 7th place in La Liga and qualified for the Europa League ^{[6 ] [7]} .

West Ham United

On June 5, 2013, Adrian joined the West Ham United English club as a free agent, signing a three-year contract with the club with the option of extending it for another two years ^{[8] [9]} .

Adrian’s official debut for the Hammers was on August 27, 2013 in the Football League Cup game against Cheltenham Town . In this game, Adrian broke the rules against a rival player, after which the chief referee awarded a penalty , which was realized by the Cheltenham player. The match ended with the victory of West Ham 2-1 ^[10] . On December 21, 2013 Adrian made his debut for West Ham in the Premier League in a game against Manchester United , in which the Hammers under the leadership of Sam Allardyce lost to the Red Devils 3: 1 ^[11] .

January 11, 2014 Adrian held his first “dry match” in the Premier League in a game against Cardiff City ^[12] . On May 6, 2014, the Spanish goalkeeper was awarded the “Save the Season” club award for repelling an Oscar hit in a game against Chelsea in January. He received the “Best Individual Performance of the Season” award for his game in the same match in which he kept his goal “dry”, and was also recognized as “Best Purchase of the Season” ^[13] . In the second half of the 2013/14 season, Adrian became West Ham United's main goalkeeper, displacing Jussi Jaaskelyainen from the squad ^[14] .

On January 13, 2015, the replay of the third round of the FA Cup against Everton ended in a draw 2: 2. In the penalty shoot-out, Adrian hit Stephen Naismith from the penalty spot, and then scored a goal against Hoel Robles after Robles hit the crossbar ^[15] . In October 2015, Adrian signed a new two-year contract with the club with the option of a possible extension for another two years ^[22] .

Liverpool

August 5, 2019 moved to Liverpool ^[23] . He made his debut for the Reds on August 9, taking the field in a Premier League match against Norwich City and replacing injured Alison ^[24] . In the debut game, he missed a goal from striker Norwich Teemu Pukki . On August 14, 2019, in the match for the UEFA Super Cup, which Liverpool played against London's Chelsea, Temmy Abraham hit a shot in the penalty shootout and brought the victory to the Merseysides. This trophy was the first European success of the Spanish goalkeeper.

In 2013, Adrian held a match for the unrecognized FIFA Andalusian team .

On August 26, 2016, the head coach of the Spanish national team, Julen Lopetegi, included Adrian in the application for matches against Belgium and Liechtenstein ^[25] . In both games, David de Gea defended the gates of the Spanish team, and Adrian spent these matches on the bench.
