Biography
A native of Narva (Petersburg Province, now Estonia). In 1917 he entered the Vladimir Military School . June 17, 1919 he graduated from artillery courses for officers, joined the 2nd Artillery Regiment. April 21, 1920 promoted to lieutenant , continued service in the 2nd Artillery Division.
He studied mathematics and economics at the University of Tartu , graduated from an artillery school in 1921. Captain from November 25, 1925 . Major since April 17, 1934 , teacher at the Higher Military School since August 31, 1936 . Inspector of artillery from November 18, 1936 . Lieutenant Colonel from February 16, 1940 .
In August 1940 he began service in the Red Army and became commander of the 629th howitzer artillery regiment (military unit no. 5963). On July 2, 1941, after a series of defeats for the Red Army in the Baltic States, he was arrested; on September 5, 1942, he was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment by a special troop of the NKVD . He died in Norillag on September 12, 1944 .
