Giovestan ( Persian جوستان ) is a village in the north of Iran , in the Alborz island . It is part of the Talekan shakhrestan . It is part of the Dehestan (rural district) Bala-Talekan Bakhsh Merkesi.

Geography
The village is located in the northwestern part of Alborz, in the highlands of southern Elburz , on the right bank of the Shahrud River Valley, about 34 kilometers north of Keredzh , the provincial capital. The absolute height is 2044 meters above sea level [1] .
Population
According to the 2006 census, the village population was 421 people (194 men and 227 women). There were 125 families in Jovestan. The literacy rate of the population was 74.82%. The literacy rate among men was 79.9%, among women - 70.48% [2] .
