Story

The film tells about the self-confident handsome, jealous and macho Eligio, an actor in the theater and television series, trying to return his wife, the writer Susana, who for some reason leaves him whenever, as he thinks, everything is fine [3] .

Filming and premieres

The idea of ​​filming the novel “Desert Cities” by Mexican writer Jose Agustin came up with the director Robert Sneijder long before the filming began, but when communicating with the author of the work, it turned out that another Mexican director, Alfonso Cuaron , already had the same idea. A few years later, Alfonso Cuaron gave Robert Sneijder green light for the production of motion pictures.

In the role of Eligio Sneijder, he initially saw Gael Garcia Bernal , who advised the director to take on the role of Susana the Spanish actress Wernick Echegi.

The film was shot in the cities of Mexico City ( Mexico ) and Winnipeg ( Canada ). The entire film was shot with a hand-held camera.
