Club career

Ben Mi is a graduate of the Manchester City Club Academy. In 2008, he was the captain of the youth team “City”, who won the Youth Cup of England [2] .

In the summer of 2010, he went with Manchester City on a preseason tour of the United States. Mi played two matches on this tour, against the Portland Timbers and New York Red Bulls clubs. Before the start of the 2010/11 season, I received a T-shirt with the number "41". On September 22, Ben Mi made his debut in Manchester City's main squad in the Football League Cup match against West Bromwich Albion , in which the semi-reserve squad of City lost 2-1 [3] .

On January 1, 2011, Ben Mi went on a lease to Leicester City , whose head coach at that time was the former head coach of Manchester City Sven-Joran Ericsson [4] . On January 22, Mi made his debut for Leicester in a game against Millwall [5] . At the end of the 2010/11 season, Mi returned to Manchester City, playing 15 matches for Leicester.

On July 14, 2011, Ben went on a seasonal rental to the Burnley Club [6] . On July 19, he made his debut with Burnley in a friendly preseason game against Bristol Rovers . On August 6, Mi made his debut for the club in the official game, leaving the starting lineup in the Championship match against Watford , which ended in a draw with a score of 2: 2 [7] .

In January 2012, Burnley head coach Eddie Howe expressed a desire to sign a contract with Ben Mi on an ongoing basis. On January 17, 2017, Mi’s transfer to Burnley took place, the defender signed a contract with “maroon” for a period of three and a half years [8] .

On September 28, 2012, Ben Mi scored his first goal for Burnley in a match against Millwall [9] .

In the 2013/14 season, Mi played 38 matches for Burnley in the left-back position and helped his club enter the Premier League .

On July 30, 2014, Mi extended his contract with Burnley for three years [10] . On August 18, 2014, Ben made his debut in the Premier League, leaving in the starting lineup of Burnley in the game against Chelsea [11] . On February 21, 2015, Mi equalized in the game with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the 81st minute of the match, which ended in a draw 1: 1 [12] .

On July 14, 2016, Ben Mi extended the contract with Burnley for another three years [13] .

Team Career

Mi played for England until 19 years old (3 matches, 1 goal) and to 20 years old (5 matches). On November 16, 2010 he made his debut with England before the age of 21 in a match against Germany . February 8, 2011 held his second (and last) match for the England youth team, entering the field in a game against Italy [14] .
