Biography

Born on January 1, 1941 in Moscow [1] .

In 1964, he graduated from Moscow Aviation Institute and later works there [1] .

In 1980, he defended his doctoral dissertation, in 1983, he was awarded the academic title of professor [1] .

Since 1987 - Dean of the Faculty of Cosmonautics and Automatic Aircraft (since 1993 - Aerospace Faculty) [1] .

Since 1990 - concurrently heads the department "Design and Construction of Aircraft" (since 1993 - the department "Space Systems and Rocket Engineering") [1] .

In 2000, he was elected a corresponding member of the RAS [1] .

Scientific activity

Specialist in the theory of design and thermal protection of aircraft [1] .

The main area of scientific interests and research: theory and methodology of a new class of problems - inverse heat transfer problems [2] .

Founder of a new research area and the scientific school "Modeling, identification and diagnostics of heat and mass transfer processes in rocket and space technology and energy-intensive technologies" (the status of the school was recognized by the Grants Council under the President of the Russian Federation in 2003 and was confirmed in subsequent 2006, 2008, 2010) on a fundamentally new approach - inverse problem methods that are important for the diagnosis and modeling of mechanics and heat transfer processes, design and testing of heat-loaded structures and technological x processes [2] .

To solve practical problems in this area, original experimental installations were created for studying and testing the thermal and thermomechanical regimes of aircraft structures, new effective diagnostic principles and methods for aerothermodynamic and thermal tests were implemented, and new concepts for the automation of experiments and tests were developed [2] .

The results of his research were used in the design and testing of launch vehicles N-1 , Energia , spacecraft Meteor-2 , Mars-96 , the Buran aerospace vehicle, to create new composite materials and structures, including flexible inflatable shells for return space objects [2] .

Co-author of more than 350 scientific works, including 10 monographs, industry standard, 9 study guides, 40 inventions [1] .

At the Moscow Aviation Institute, he gives lecture courses on the design and development of heat-loaded structures, modeling the processes of functioning of aircraft, and also taught courses at various universities and academies abroad [1] .

Under his leadership, 8 doctoral and 16 master's theses were defended [2] .
