Dean wanted to marry Andress, but, according to the actress, "it was easy to love him, but not to get married." In the same year, the actress began a relationship with director John Derek . For her sake, Derek left his family and in 1957 married Andress. In 1963 they divorced, and in 1966 their marriage was officially divorced [5] . Andress left Derek for Belmondo , with whom she lived for the next eight years, and who, by her own admission, became the love of her life [4] .
