Korea Joint Team
Some time before the championship, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea, for the first time after the division of Korea, discussed the possibility of creating a combined football and table tennis teams. After 22 meetings and 5 months of negotiations, a joint table tennis team was created, which performed at the 41st World Championship under the Union Flag . [2] [3] The popular folk song β Ariran β was chosen as the teamβs anthem.
The victory of the Korean women's team over the βinvincibleβ before the Chinese team caused a real sensation in Korea. In 2012, the film Ko-ri-a ( μ½λ¦¬μ , As One , One , As One ) was released in South Korea, telling the story of this victory [4] . During the filming of the film, professional actors imitated a table tennis game without a ball under the guidance of a member of the 1991 Korean combined team of Olympic champion Hyun John Hwa [5] .
