Mail Development
The history of mail on Curaçao is inextricably linked with the history of a group of islands, including also Aruba , Bonaire , Sabu , Sint Eustatius and Sint Maarten , colonized by the Dutch [1] [4] and in 1815 united into the Dutch colony [1] [5] [6] . In 1825, in the main city of Curaçao, Willemstad, the first post office was opened [5] [6] [] .

Since 1873, the postage stamps of Curaçao and dependent territories were in circulation on Curaçao [1] [4] [7] [8] .
On July 1, 1875, as the main island of the Netherlands Antilles , Curaçao, along with its metropolis and Aruba, joined the UPU. From 1877, the postal territory of Curaçao and its dependencies became a separate member of the UPU [6] [9] .
Since 1948, the Curaçao brand changed the issues of the Netherlands Antilles due to the fact that the colony was renamed [1] [4] [8] . In 1954, the colony was transformed into an autonomous part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands - the Netherlands Antilles [1] [8] [] .
The island is one of the five postal territories of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In 1993, Curaçao was accepted into the organization UPAEP ( Postal Union of American States, Spain and Portugal ) . The modern national postal operator is the enterprise niderl. Cpost International NV , reporting to the Bureau of Telecommunications and Post ( Bureau Telecommunicatie en Post ) [3] . It was established in 2014 [≡] , after the island received the status of self-governing autonomy in 2010, and its predecessor from 1997 to 2003 was Post Nederlandse Antillen Ltd. (“Netherlands Antil Post Mail.”) [≡] [ ≡ ] , renamed Nieuwe Post Nederlandse Antillen (“New Netherlands Antilles Post”) in 2003 [10] [] .
