Tzairaguin vardapet or Tsairaguin vardapet (supreme wardpet, armenian ծայրագույն վարդապետ ) - academic degree in the Armenian Apostolic Church , corresponding to the degree of Doctor of Science. It is awarded to celibate priests who already have a scientific degree of wardapet (Ph.D.), according to the results of exams [1] [2] . The tzairaguin wardapet is awarded the title by the examiners with a double-headed serpent wand, which symbolizes wisdom and the right to interpret the word of God, teach and preach [3] .
