In 1915 he graduated from high school with a gold medal.
University education in Kazan . In 1929 he graduated from the Faculty of Biology.
1930-1948 - leads the electrophysiological laboratory at the Moscow Institute of Physiology .
In 1934, at the suggestion of Academician N. N. Burdenko, Georgy Semenovich organized a laboratory of neuromuscular physiology and electrophysiology at the Central Neurosurgical Institute in Moscow and headed this laboratory (part-time) from 1934 to 1938.
In 1948 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences.

Scientific Activities
Even in his student years, Georgy Semenovich specialized in electrophysiology under the guidance of the famous scientist Alexander Filippovich Samoilov. Together with student M. I. Volkova, he performed a great work “On the applicability of the law“ all or nothing ”to a narcotic heart ”.
The scientific researches of G. S. Yuniev are very extensive. They are dedicated to the central nervous, neuromuscular and cardiovascular systems using electrophysiological methods of investigation. In the field of neurophysiology, a scientist for a quarter of a century, together with the team he led, worked on studying the rate of central nervous conduction depending on age and on other physiological factors. The main results of this work were summed up in the monograph “The rate of propagation of excitation in the central nervous system ” ( Minsk , 1963). In recent years, research on neurophysiology has been updated with new data. At present, G. S. Yun'ev is preparing a monograph for publication, where the speed of the central nerve conduction will be considered in an evolutionary aspect. The same area of neurophysiology includes his research on the electrophysiological study of certain reflexes (tendon and blink) in humans and animals in various physiological and pathological conditions. For five years, Georgy Semenovich worked with his students and students on the electrophysiological study of a simple and complex mental reaction. Scientific studies of G. S. Yuniev were not limited to experimental work only. He performed many works of scientific, historical and popular nature. Georgy Semenovich vigorously led the scientific work of his students. Under his leadership, defended candidate and doctoral dissertations.
He has published over 100 scientific papers. Under his leadership, defended 17 master's theses. Scientific research G. S. Yuniev not limited to experimental work. He performed many works of scientific, historical and popular nature.
