History
Moshav was founded on May 12, 1946 by demobilized soldiers of the British Army who fought in North Africa and Italy during World War II [1] . The idea of creating a moshavim was born back in 1941, when the future founders of the moshavim fought in the Jewish brigade of the 544 civil engineering team, mainly technicians and engineers. Therefore, when forming a moshav, it combined both agricultural and industrial activities.
The name moshav was supposed to symbolize the desire of the founders to live a free life on their land.
Current status
Residents are mainly employed in agriculture and furniture factories, factories for the production of sunglasses and packaging materials, as well as in a shopping center, regional school and pensioners' house.
Moshav covers an area of 3.2 square kilometers.
Population
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics of Israel , the population at the beginning of 2018 was 1,224 people [2] .
