Club career

Romario Williams was born in the city of Portmore and was named after the famous Brazilian footballer Romario [1] . While studying at the University of Central Florida, he played for the UCF Knights university team. Williams scored 18 goals and made five assists in 51 matches (46 of which went into the first team). The American Sports Conference , which organizes the competition, recognized him as the best player in 2013 and included the symbolic team tournament in 2014 [2] . In addition, during 2014, in addition to university competitions, he regularly played in the Premier Development League for Orlando City U-23, in which he took part in 11 league games and scored 7 goals.

On January 15, 2015, on the MLS Superdraft , Williams was selected by the Montreal Impact Club under number three [3] . His professional debut took place on March 28, 2015 in a match against Orlando City (2: 2) [4] . Romario was not able to gain a foothold in the team and played for the USL clubs - the farm club " Montreal " and " Charleston Battery " on loan [5] .

On December 11, 2016, Atlanta United acquired Williams in exchange for choosing a new player in the third round of the Superdraft MLS 2018 [6] . However, after passing through the preparatory camp with Atlanta on March 2, he went back to Charleston Battery [7] until the end of the 2017 season. Romario made his debut for “Atlanta United” on March 11, 2018 in a match against DC United (3: 1), replacing in the 84th minute. On April 7, 2018, in a meeting with Los Angeles , he scored his first goal in the MLS, sending the last of five unanswered goals to the opponents [8] .

Career in the national team

In 2015, he was involved in the Olympic team of Jamaica , in which he scored three goals in three matches.

On November 13, 2016, he made his debut in official games in the national team of Jamaica in the qualifying match for the 2017 Caribbean Cup against the national team of Suriname (1: 0).
