“Questions of linguistic kinship” ( English Journal of Language Relationship ) is an international scientific journal devoted to the problems of comparative historical linguistics . It is the only specialized publication in comparative historical linguistics in Russia [1] . It is published jointly by the Linguistic Comparative Comparative Sector of the Institute of Aviation Studies of the Russian State Humanitarian University and the Institute of Atomic Energy of the Russian Academy of Sciences ; in the United States it is published by the Russian publishing house Gorgias Press . The journal is included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission as a separate series of the Bulletin of the RSUH [2] [1] . The main journal of the Moscow School of Comparative Studies [3] [4] . According to the results of the HSE project on expert ranking of Russian scientific journals, “Questions of linguistic kinship” fell into the category A2 - high-level narrow-profile journals [5] . All materials submitted to the journal for publication are verified by experts using a double blind procedure [2] [1] . It is distributed according to the platinum open access model - free of charge for both authors and readers [2] .

It was founded in 2008 by K. Babaev [2] . In 2011 it acquired international status: the magazine also began to be published in the USA by the Gorgias Press publishing house [6] . It was published twice a year; since 2015 it has been published four times a year [7] . As of the first half of 2017, the chief editor since the founding [6] V. A. Dybo , deputy chief editor G. S. Starostin [8] [1] , chairman of the editorial board of Vyach. Sun Ivanov , the editorial board includes scientists from California , Ann Arbor , Brno , Paris , New Mexico , Leiden , Moscow , Belfast and Berkeley [8] . The journal publishes articles in Russian , English , French and German [2] [6] [1] .
