Literary work

The first publication of the poems was in April 1987 : the poem “Remembrance” was published in the journal “ Youth ” [4] under the heading “Test bench”. He is the author of five books of poems, one novel, articles and essays on the philosophy of poetry and on individual poets (in particular, on Pasternak , on Cavafy ).

Aristov’s poems belong to the metarealist trend in the poetry of the 1980-1990s. Starting from the Mandelstam imperative , demanding to try to master, to inhabit any thing that was originally alien to a person, to turn it into “utensils” with a poetic word, metarealists raised the question of their own being fullness of a thing, of how a dialogue with it is possible - with the Kantian thing in itself , leibnizova a monad , moreover, a dialogue that does not distort its essence.

Among the metarealists, Aristov, along with Arkady Dragomoshchenko , made up the most “Westernizing” wing: the roots of his individual manner go back to the poetry of Rilke , Italian, Greek poets of the early XX century ( Seferis ). Aristov prefers a non-rhymed verse, but more often white than free , because for him melodic inertia, the prolongation of sound in itself, is very important. The real world of Aristov’s poems is the most ethereal, consists of dimly distinguishable large objects: light, shadow, river — however, they are all metarealistically understood as full participants in the dialogue.

Criticism

Literary critic Kirill Kovaldzhi noted: “Soft musical associations control the poetic flow of V. Aristov.” [four]
