Bab al-Yaman (Arabic: باب اليمن), Russian "Gate of Yemen") - the main gate of the old fortified wall of Sana'a , at the southern end of the walled city, its current project, built in the 17th century by the Turks [1] . Today they are the most ornate gates of the Old City of Sana'a. Travelers traveling south to Mabar and Damaru departed from this gate.

When a person enters the gate, he quickly notices the magnificent Yemeni architecture, tall towering houses of burnt adobe , waterproof and decorated with lime plaster and cadad [ what? ] , one of the outstanding features of the Old City of Sana'a. The old city of Sana'a is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List due to its unique architectural features, most pronounced in its multi-storey buildings, decorated with geometric patterns [2] .
