Egil Jacobsen ( dates. Egil Jacobsen , June 11, 1897 , Copenhagen - March 27, 1923 , ibid. [1] ) - Danish chess player , master. He is an engineer by profession. Champion of Denmark 1917 and 1922 A participant in a strong two-circle international tournament in Copenhagen (in addition to him, A.I. Nimtsovich , S.G. Tartakover , F. Zemish , R. Shpilman and J. MΓΆller also played). Often in books and databases it is erroneously indicated that the Swedish master E. Jacobson played in the tournament. After the tournament, in his article in the Wiener Schachzeitung magazine, Tartakover called Jacobsen one of Denmark's strongest chess players. However, shortly after the tournament, Jacobsen developed an abscess in his throat, and he died of sepsis .
