Nantes ( French: Football Club de Nantes ) is a French football club from the city of the same name . It was founded on April 12, 1943 . Spends home games at the stadium " Stud Bozhuar-Louis Fonteno ", accommodating 38,285 spectators. Eight -time champion of France , three-time winner of the Cup of the country . The colors of the club are yellow-green, which is why the team has the nickname “Canaries”.

Content
History
Nantes was formed in the spring of 1943, when Marcel Sopin, president of the Mantle Nantes club, initiated the unification of the football teams in the city into one competitive team. Two years later, the “green-yellow” received professional status. In 1963, Nantes made it to the French Premier League , and since then has not left it for 44 seasons - until 2007 , when the team flew to League 2 .
Academy
Nantes is known for its football academy, which, along with the Metz and Auxerre academies, is the best in France. Football players such as Didier Deschamps , Marcel Desailly , Christian Karambyot , Claude Makelele , Jeremy Tulalan and others began to play at the Nantes School.
Stadium
Currently, Nantes holds his matches at the stadium "Beaujoir-Louis Fonteno", often also called simply "Beaujoir". It was built in 1984. In the opening match on May 8, 1984, Nantes met in a friendly match with the Romanian team. The initial capacity of the stadium was 52,923 seats. For the 1998 World Cup, the stadium was rebuilt and can now accommodate 38,285 people.
