Eugene Konstantinovich Ginter (born January 12, 1940 ) is a Soviet and Russian scientist, a specialist in the field of population genetics , genetic epidemiology , genetics of multifactorial diseases, and mapping of genes of hereditary diseases. Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2013, RAMS since 2002, corresponding member since 1993), doctor of biological sciences (1976), professor (1984). Scientific supervisor of the Medical Genetic Research Center (MGSC, Moscow), head of the department of medical genetics of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences [1] .

Biography
He graduated from the Kuban Medical Institute (1962) as a medical doctor.
From 1962 to 1965 he studied at graduate school , and from 1965 to 1971 he worked in the laboratory of radiation genetics at the Institute of Medical Radiology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (Obninsk).
Since 1972, he was a senior researcher at the Institute of Medical Genetics of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR , then the organizer and head of the laboratory of genetic epidemiology (1975-2006) [2] , deputy. Director of the Moscow State Science Center, Director of the Moscow State Science Center, and now the supervisor of studies, also heads the scientific advisory department and is the chairman of the academic council for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations at the Moscow State Science Center.
He is a member of the bureau of the biomedical section of the Department of Medical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Vice President of the Vavilov Society of Genetics and Breeders . Until 2015, he was chairman of the Russian Society of Medical Genetics.
Under his leadership, 14 doctoral degrees were defended (among them - E. V. Balanovskaya ) and more than 30 master's theses. He defended his thesis in 1966, and his doctoral thesis in 1976.

He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor . Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation .
He has published over 350 articles in Russian and foreign journals, published a textbook on medical genetics for medical universities (2003), and under his editorship and with the participation of 4 monographs on the problems of population-based medical genetics have been published.
