Zhanet Vladimirovna Buterus (born August 12, 1979 , Šiauliai , Lithuania ) is a Belarusian singer, songwriter, actress, TV presenter. Laureate of the international song contest Baltic Song Festival 2015 [1] . Actress and vocalist of the highest category of the State Youth Variety Theater [2] .

Biography
Janet was born in Lithuania, in the city of Šiauliai , but spent her childhood in the capital of Belarus, in the city of Minsk [3] .
In 1991 she graduated from the Machulishchan School of Music in piano.
In 1994, she entered the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts , specializing in Variety Art, as a vocalist. At the same time, she was educated as a vocal teacher. She graduated from the university in 1998 with honors [4] .
Laureate of the television republican competition "Zornaya Rostan" (1996).
In 1998, Janet recorded one of her first songs “Where are you?” And began her career on the Belarusian stage. In 1999, such songs as “Choose” and “I Don't Love You” fall into the rotation of all Belarusian radio stations.
In 2000, a joint tour was held with the Gorky Park group consisting of seven major concerts in all the country's Ice Palaces.
Since 2003, Janet has been a multiple finalist of the qualifying rounds of the Eurovision song contest [5] .
In October 2005, Janet presented her debut album “With Love from Belarus” [6] . The album includes 12 tracks recorded between 2000-2005, including the song "Belarus" written by the singer. This song has become a business card of Janet.
In 2006, the first solo concert of Janet “With Love from Belarus” was held at the Palace of the Republic [7] . The concert was repeatedly broadcast on television and was released on DVD.
In 2007, an all-Belarusian solo tour of the singer was announced, in support of the birth rate in the country, which lasted more than a year and accommodated 143 concerts in all cities of Belarus. The tour was social and ideological in nature, aimed at improving the demographic situation in the country. It is noteworthy that in the last decade, it was 2009 that was declared the peak of the birth rate in Belarus [8] .
In 2008, shooting in the musical film of ONT "Batleyka" in the role of Alena [9] .
Since 2014, she has been leading the presidential sports club, leading Christmas hockey, as well as events with the participation of the head of state [10] .
In 2015, the video for the song “You will be here” was recognized as the best video of the year in Belarus and brought Janet the national prize in the field of popular music “Lira” [11] [12] . Also in Australia, at the international song contest “The Global Sound”, the video for the song “You will be here” took 11th place [13] [14] . The clip also hit the international music channel VEVA, which made the song famous in Europe [15] .
Personal life
In 2008, during rehearsals of the ONT Channel’s Battle of the Cities program, Janet met Pavel Soroka, an athlete and record holder in the Guinness Book of Records. The wedding took place on January 23, 2010 [16] . The couple have two children, Laura and Diana [17] .
