Club career
Martinez is a graduate of the Chorrillo Club. September 8, 2013 in the match against the " Alliances ", he made his debut for the team in the Panama Championship [2] . October 11, 2015 in a duel against " Chepo " Christian scored his first goal for "Chorrillo" [3] .
On May 17, 2016, Martinez, on loan, moved to the American Columbus Crew [4] . On June 1, in the match against the Philadelphia Union , he made his debut in the MLS [5] . In the same fight, Christian scored his first goal for Columbus Crew. In the same year, Martinez also acted as a tenant for the USL Pittsburgh Riverhounds team affiliated with Kru . In early 2017, Columbus Crew bought out his transfer from Chorrillo [6] . In May 2017, Martinez was loaned to the USL Cincinnati Club for short term rentals [7] . At the end of the 2018 season , Columbus Crew did not extend the contract with Martinez [8] .
On December 12, 2018, MLS Martinez was selected by the Chicago Fire club in the MLS bounce draft [9] .
International Career
February 18, 2016 in a friendly match against the national team of Salvador Martinez made his debut for the national team of Panama [10] .
In 2017, as part of the Panama youth team, Christian took part in the CONCACAF youth championship in Costa Rica . He played in the tournament against USA [11] , Saint Kitts and Nevis [12] , Haiti [13] , Honduras [14] and Costa Rica .
Martinez was included in the preliminary application of the Panama national team of 35 players for the 2018 World Cup , but did not make it to the final list of 23 players [15] .
