The Stavcheny commune also includes the village of Novye Goian . Village Day is celebrated on September 21 .
Chisinau National College of Viticulture and Winemaking operates in Stavcheni. In Stavcheny there is a winery, a farm and extensive plantations and gardens. In Stavcheny, there are new multi-storey buildings under construction and under construction, but basically the village is a cottage village with developed infrastructure.
History
Almost all the time the village was part of the Criuleni district .
On February 2, 1978, the village was given the status of “ urban-type settlement ”, however, when the law on the administrative-territorial structure of the Republic of Moldova was adopted in 1994, the status of Stavchen was again lowered to the village-residence . The first mention of the Stavchen in historical documents dates back to June 7, 1867. In 1901, the territory of the village became subordinate to the north of the village of Cricovo. The village was located 3 kilometers north of Chisinau on the Orhei road and was called Buruyana, it was surrounded by lands with gardens, forests and arable land that belonged to the landowner Balitsky at that time.
One version of the origin of the current name of the village is the version that the immigrants were from the north of Moldova. The name comes from the Slavic word “becoming” (“lake” or “pond”) and means “a village by the pond”, and the toponym was brought by immigrants.
In accordance with Law No. 431 of April 19, 1995 on the Statute of the Chisinau Municipality, the Stavceni commune was transferred to the Riscani sector of the Chisinau municipality.
