Vishnevka is a settlement in the Pallas district of the Volgograd region , the administrative center and the only settlement of the Stepnovsky rural settlement .

Content
History
Founded in 1929 . Vishnevka was settled by residents of nearby farms. In the same year, 13 families organized the TRAKTOR artel (later transformed into the Victory collective farm ). In 1930, an elementary school was opened [2] . Since 1935, the settlement was part of the Elton District , formed as a result of the downsizing of the Vladimir District of the Stalingrad Region. The farm was the center of the Stepnovsky Village Council [3]
During the war, most of the men went to the front, 98 of them did not return, died, defending their homeland. Near the village there was a military airfield [2] .
In 1950, in connection with the abolition of the Elton district, the village was transferred to the Pallas district [4] . In 1954, the development of virgin and fallow lands by Komsomol volunteers began. In 1956, the school became ten years old. In 1975, water came along the Pallas Canal [2] .
In 2000, a border post was opened in the village of Vishnevka. In 2009, a military camp was built [2] .
Physical-geographical characteristic
The settlement is located within the Caspian lowland , at an altitude of about 24 meters above sea level, in the east of the Pallas district, near the border with the Republic of Kazakhstan . Near the village passes the route of the Pallas Canal [5] . Soils - meadow solonice (semi-hydromorphic) [6]
Near the village is the highway Pallasovka - Elton . There is an access road to the village Zhanibek of the Republic of Kazakhstan [5] . By road, the distance to the district center of the city of Pallasovka is 77 km, to the regional center of the city of Volgograd - 300 km. The nearest railway station is the Dzhanybek of the Volga Railway, located on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the village of Zhanibek , 6 km east of Vishnevka.

The climate is continental (according to the Köppen climate classification - Dfa ). The average annual temperature is positive and amounts to + 7.6 ° C, the average temperature of the coldest month of January is 9.3 ° C, and the hottest month of July is + 24.0 ° C. The multi-year average rainfall is 309 mm. During the year, precipitation is distributed approximately evenly: the smallest amount is 17 mm in March, the largest in June is 35 mm [7] .
