Biography

Born in Poland, in the village of Kamen-Shlyakhetsky on July 5, 1923 . Parents were farm laborers . The family of Georgy Petrovich was large - 5 children. After the accession of Western Belarus to the USSR , the family received their own land. [1] Before the war, Georgy Petrovich graduated from the 2 classes of the gymnasium in Kobrin . In fact, from the school bench, he stepped to the front and participated in the hostilities. [2] In 1942 headed the department of partisans near Turnoi and received the first wound in open battle with a German company near Gantsevichi [3] . In May 1943 He was accepted into the party [4] . In the same year he became the commander of a partisan company. In 1944 , during the storming of the crossing on the Dneprobugsky Canal in the village of Zarechye, he was seriously wounded and was decommissioned from the front. [five]

After the war he worked in administrative institutions, including the head. Department of Culture of the Brest City Executive Committee and at the same time he studied at night school , at the teacher's college. In 1961 , G. P. Davidyuk's first book, The Main Features of Modern Revisionism, was published. It was strongly criticized in the pro-government Yugoslav newspaper, The Struggle, accusing it of slandering the Yugoslav leadership, including Josip Broz Tito . In 1952, George Davidyuk graduated from the Minsk Pedagogical Institute. M. Gorky . After defending his PhD thesis ( 1959 ) he switched to scientific work. From 1962 to 1973 worked at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus as head of the department of sociological research. In 1967, G. P. Davidyuk was one of the founders of the Problem Research Laboratory of Sociological Research (PNILSI) [6] . In 1968, his book Critique of the Theory of a Unified Industrial Society, which was highly appreciated by Moscow sociologists , was published. [one]

In 1969 Georgy Petrovich defended his doctoral thesis on the topic: “Criticizing the Theory of the“ Unified Industrial Society ". In 1973, he went to work at Belarusian State University . He headed the Philosophy Department of Humanitarian Faculties, the Problem Laboratory of Sociological Research. Belarusian State University. And its struggle did not pass without a trace: as early as the beginning of the 1973/74 school year, two groups were organized at the philosophical department S: philosophical and sociological . From the 3rd course, as it should be according to university order, they began to give lectures in applied sociology at the department of sociology. The new program for this department included 12 special courses. Therefore, at the philosophical department there was an acute need for professional textbooks. This problem inspired Georgy Davidyuk to write specialized textbooks : “Introduction to Applied Sociology” ( 1975 ) and “ Applied Sociology ” ( 1979 ). These were the first textbooks in the USSR on applied sociology . In 1978, as part of the Soviet delegation of higher education, he represented the social sciences of Belarus in the GDR . Until 1995, he taught at the Belarusian State University . [one]

Scientific Activities

Georgiy Petrovich was active in research and development. He made a great contribution to the opening of the Belarusian State University ( 1989). at the Faculty of Philosophy and Economics, Department of Sociology . He has written and published more than 150 scientific works (15 of which were translated into foreign languages ​​and published abroad), as well as for his research and teaching career Georgy Petrovich prepared 48 PhDs , 12 of whom later became doctors of philosophical and sociological sciences . However, the most important result of his scientific activity is writing in 1984 . the first in the USSR and Belarus "Dictionary of Applied Sociology". In addition, Georgy Petrovich gave lectures on sociology at foreign universities: Jena ( Germany ) in 1975 , Ljubljana ( Slovenia ) in 1976 , Krakow ( Poland ) in 1979 , Bilfeld ( Germany ) in 1993 , and also was an active participant in more than 15 international conferences.
