Biography

Born in Minsk . In 1975 she graduated from the Department of Philosophy of the Belarusian State University. In 1978 she graduated from graduate school and since that time has been working at BSU on an ongoing basis. Under her scientific supervision, 15 candidates of sciences were trained. Engaged in active scientific and pedagogical activities. Repeatedly invited to teach sociology at various universities in the United States . Trained in the Netherlands and the USA. The author of works on the sociology of youth , culture , public opinion , the city [2] , religion . He has one of the highest citation ratings among Belarusian social scientists.

Scientific activity

He takes an active part in research projects in Belarus and abroad [3] on various problems of post-Soviet development, political culture, youth, women, etc. Co-coordinator of the European project on the study of values ​​since 1999. Member of the editorial board of the journal “Sociology”, member The International Sociological Association (since 1982 ), the International Institute of Sociology (since 1996 ), an active participant in many sociological congresses [4] .

Titarenko. L. G. is the author of more than 150 scientific papers in Russian , Belarusian , Ukrainian , German , and English , including 8 monographs , 4 study guides, and 2 dictionaries published in Russia and Belarus: “Applied Sociology. Dictionary ”(1991); “Sociology of Youth” (1995 and 1996); “History of Sociology” (1997) [5] ; “Operational sociological research” (1997); “Sociology” (1998, 2000, 2002); "Economic and Sociological Dictionary" (2002).

Internship abroad: Fulbright scholarship holder (1996, 2016), researcher at the Netherlands Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities (1996), Woodrow Wilson International Center (1998-1999), College of Advanced Social Studies ( Uppsala , 2006 , Helsinki , 2013 ), Collegium of Max Weber (2011). She taught sociology in the USA ( 1999 - 2000 ), Poland (2003), Finland (2012). Member of international research projects on European values, socialization of youth, city sociology, quality of life , ecology, post-Soviet transformation, the relationship of business and city government.

National Coordinator for Relations of Belarusian Scientists in the Field of Social and Human Sciences with Western Scientists in the framework of the Seventh Framework Program Horizon 2020.

Member of the editorial boards of many scientific Belarusian and foreign journals.
