Streltsov, Boris Vasilievich

Boris Streltsov was born on March 1, 1926 in the village of Khutor, Bykhovsky District , Mogilev Region . The youth of the future writer fell on the harsh years of World War II . The death of loved ones, starvation and deprivation left their mark on the personality of Boris Vasilyevich and his work. From 1951 to 1956 he studied at the Faculty of Philology of BSU , combining his studies with work in newspaper offices ( Bobruisk regional newspaper Sovetskaya Rodina, Red Shift, Zvezda ). Since September 1969 - at the Faculty of Journalism of BSU. He worked as a senior teacher , associate professor , head of the department of theory and practice of modern journalism . Candidate of Historical Sciences ( 1968 ), Doctor of Philology ( 1978 ), Professor ( 1979 ). Since 1998 he worked as a professor at the Department of Sociology of Journalism .

His literary talent began to be revealed during his studies at the philological faculty of BSU . The first collection of the writer "Heir" was released in 1963 . Later, the novels “The Evening Planet”, “The Metronome of Memory”, the collection of short stories “The Magic Fog”, and the novel “Between the Steep Shores” appeared. It was in this novel that the author expressed the opinion that the press is spiritual bread for every day. The subjects of the writer's works are diverse, but, first of all, the author was interested in the life of the Belarusian village, its way of life, problems and joys; aspirations of the young generation. Working a lot with students as a teacher, Boris Vasilievich in his works tried to comprehend the tasks facing young people, to understand their goals, especially their worldview. ^[2] B. V. Streltsov began publishing in 1948. Since that time, he has published hundreds of journalistic and artistic journalistic works, many scientific articles and brochures. He is the author of four documentary scripts and five fiction albums dedicated to Belarus . He was the chairman of the specialized Council for the defense of dissertations, the head of the research laboratory of the media , the secretary of the Belarusian Union of Journalists , the chairman of the professional ethics committee of the BSJ , a member of the Commission on Culture and Art under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus .

He was awarded the honorary honors "Excellence in Education of the Republic of Belarus " and "Excellence in Press of Belarus ", Diplomas and Diploma of the Supreme Council of the BSSR ( 1962 , 1965 , 1986 ). In 1992 - laureate of the prize of the International Confederation of Journalistic Unions "For a special contribution to the development of journalism ." Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Belarus ( 1997 ), laureate of a special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus for cultural and art workers (nomination " Journalism ") ( 2001 ). On the 20th day of Belarusian writing , which was held in 2013 in the city of Bykhov , a commemorative plaque in his honor was opened in the homeland of the writer, scientist and teacher.
