History
On December 23, 1999, José Aroca created the Fuerza Amarilla Football Club in Machala , the administrative center of the province of El Oro . The name “Fuerza Amarilla” from Spanish translates as “yellow power”. Club colors are yellow-black. For such a coloring, the team received the nickname "Wasps from Machaly."
Until 2014, the team played in the third strongest football division in their region. In 2014, having won the league, the club rose to Serie B. The 2015 season in Ecuador’s second strongest football league for Fuerza Amarilla was successful, the team managed to immediately earn silver and the club began the next season in Serie A. According to the results of the 2016 season in Serie A, the club secured the right to take part in the draw of the South American Cup , the second most important international club tournament in South America. In the first stage, the team was able to go through the Chilean club O'Higgins (2: 0 and 0: 1). But in 1/16, according to the results of the two-match confrontation, the club lost to the Colombian Santa Fe (1: 1 and 0: 1) and dropped out of the competition.
Stadium
The team spends home games at the May 9 stadium, which seats 16,500 spectators. The stadium was opened on May 9, 1955. It is home to a number of football clubs from the city of Machala .
