Biography

Born in Moscow in a family of employees. She graduated from high school and at the same time the children's music school of the Rostokinsky district.

In 1946-1950, she studied at the piano, and then theoretical departments of the Music College. Gnesins . [1] . In 1950 she entered the Faculty of History, Theory and Composition [2] of the GMPI named after Gnesins [1] , who graduated with honors in 1955 from the class of M.E. Rittich.

In 1956-1963, he was a teacher of musical literature at the Children's Music School No. 2 of the Dzerzhinsky District of Moscow (now named after NP Rakov) [3] .

In 1958-1959 she worked as an editor of the All-Union Bureau of Propaganda of Soviet Music at the Union of Composers of the USSR (part-time), and also was the author of music broadcasts on broadcasting of the USSR State Television and Radio .

In 1962-1981 - teacher of musical literature in theoretical and general courses at the M.M. Ippolitov-Ivanov . [4] .

She was engaged in scientific work in the field of improving the methodology of teaching Western European music.

In 1977-1978 she was one of the organizers of the electives on contemporary foreign music.

In 1980-1981 she led the subject commission of musical literature.

In 1981, for family reasons, she left the school, but continued to work on the textbook (co-authored with I.A. Givental), having prepared the 2nd, expanded edition.

In 1973-1974 (concurrently) and in 1986-1991 she worked at the GMPI named after Gnesins . [1] , since 1988 - as a senior teacher. She taught the history of foreign music at the historical-theoretical-composer [2] and performing faculties. She led a seminar on contemporary music, led the methodology of teaching musical literature and an individual class. She worked on writing the second volume of the textbook (in the same co-authorship).

She prepared the thesis: "The principles of consistency in teaching musical literature in the theoretical department of the school" (without defense).

In 2010, GMPI named after The Gnesins [1] published a collection of articles and materials dedicated to L.D. Schukin. [five]
