Gian Fadri Caderas ( romance. Gian Fadri Caderas ; July 13, 1830 , Modena - November 25, 1891 , Samedan ) - Swiss writer .
He studied commerce in Italy, was engaged in insurance business. Until 1857 , he composed poems in Italian, then switched to the Engadin variety of the Romansh language . He published books “Poems” ( romance. Rimas ; 1865 ), “New Poems” ( romance. Nouvas Rimas ; 1879 ), “Alpine Flowers” ( romance. Fluors Alpinas ; 1883 ), “Smiles and Tears” ( romance. Sorrirs e larmas ; 1887 ). He also wrote novels, short stories, and comedies. He translated poetry of Schiller , Goethe , Heine , Musset , Longfellow and others into Romansh. He edited the Progress magazine ( novel. Il Progress , 1872 - 1873 ) and the Engadine Pages newspaper ( novel. Fögl d'Engiadina , 1880 - 1891 ).
