Extra-parliamentary commissions
Extra-parliamentary commissions are bodies appointed by the Federal Council or ministries that perform state tasks for the government and departments. They operate in accordance with the Commission Regulation of 3 June 1996 (SR 172.31). Extra-parliamentary commissions perform two general functions: supplement the federal government in matters where there is a lack of special information, and coordinate their use.
