Gendrolis, Antanas

Antanas Juozas Gendrolis ( lit. Antanas Juozas Gendrolis ; born May 14, 1926 , Lithuania ) is a Soviet and Lithuanian pharmacologist. Doctor of Sciences, Professor (1990). In 1968-1988, Director of the Kaunas Endocrine Drug Factory. Honored Medical Officer of Lithuania (2016). Winner of the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR (1987).

Biography

Born in a farming family in the Yurbark district of the Tauragsky district of Lithuania.

In 1950 he graduated from Kaunas Medical School, where he studied since 1947. In 1959 he graduated from the 1st Moscow Medical Institute , where he studied since 1954 at the Moscow Pharmaceutical Institute (in 1958, merged with the 1st Moscow State Medical University).

In 1968-88, director of the Kaunas Endocrine Drug Factory, where before that he was the chief engineer.

In 1988-92 Head Department of Drug Technology and Public Pharmacy of Kaunas Medical University , and in 1992-2003. Professor, Department of Pharmacy.

In 1991-96 Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Certification Commission of the Minister of Health of Lithuania. In 1995-2003 Chairman of the State Pharmacopoeia.

In 1974 he defended his doctoral dissertation in pharmaceutical sciences, and in 1987 he defended his doctoral dissertation in pharmacy.

Honorary Member of the Lithuanian Apitherapy Society and the Lithuanian Pharmaceutical Union.

Honorary Health Worker of Lithuania (1976). Honored Medical Officer of Lithuania (2016).

The author of more than 250 publications, including the monograph "Ophthalmic dosage forms in pharmacy" (M., 1988). He is the author of a number of books on apitherapy, in particular, Medus žmogaus sveikatai (Honey for Human Health, 2011), Propolis (2010). Has 25 inventions. Developed 40 new drugs.

Wife, two daughters, grandchildren.
