Leslie James Clark ( born Leslie James Clark , November 17, 1907 , Ogden - September 12, 1979 , Santa Barbara ) is an American animator, one of the representatives of nine Disney old people . [4] Together with Ab Iverks, he worked on the original image of Mickey Mouse .

Biography
Clark Forest was born on November 17, 1907 in Ogden , Utah , and was the eldest son of 12 children in the family of James Clark and Lut Wadsworth. Les's father was a carpenter by profession. The Clark family often moved. By 1930, they settled in Los Angeles , where Les attended the Venice High School .
While studying at high school, Forest worked part-time in the summer at an ice cream store, which was located near the Disney studio . Walt and Roy Disney sometimes went to this store, and once Walt praised the Forest for the beautiful letters that he put on the menu of the store. The young man had the courage to ask Walt Disney about working at the studio, for which Walt Disney asked to show Les something from what he himself had painted. Clark showed his drawings and received a job offer for a temporary position until he graduated from high school [5] [6] .
Leslie was hired on February 23, 1927, a few days after graduating from high school. Forest's first work in the studio was camera operation, retouching and painting animation frames under the direction of Aba Iverks . While the studio was working on Steamboat Willie , Clark was already trusted with drawing intermediate frames of the cartoon. The forest was promoted to animator while working on the Silly Symphonies , where he worked on a scene in the cartoon " Dance of Skeletons " in which one skeleton plays on the bones of another like a xylophone [7] .
After Aba Iverks left the studio, Les Clarke became the main animator of Mickey Mouse. At this time, he continues to hone his skills in drawing, visiting art classes in his free time. [4] Les Clarke animated the Snow White dance scene with each of the gnomes in the animated film “ Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, ” and also participated in animating characters like Pinocchio , Cinderella , Alice , and the Tinker Bell fairy. Clarke worked at Disney Studios until September 30, 1975 (48 years old), making him the longest running animator at Disney Studios.
He was married twice. From his first marriage he had two children: Richard and Miriam.
He died of cancer on September 12, 1979 in Santa Barbara .
