History
Kafue National Park was created in 1924 after, by order of the government of Northern Rhodesia, the inhabitants of this region ( nkoya ) were relocated to Mumbwa District in the east [1] .

There are lions, African elephants. The Kafue River and its tributaries are the habitat of hippos and Nile crocodiles . Also in the park are leopards and spotted hyenas .
Geography
Most of the territory is flat or slightly hilly with rare granite and sandstone hills up to 120 meters high [2] .
The average annual rainfall varies from 510 mm in the south to 1020 mm in the north.
The average annual temperature is 21 ° C. October is the hottest month of the year [2] .
Most of the national park is located in Central Zambezian Miombo woodlands, this region is a savannah with trees of the Miombo species. In the south of the park, drought-resistant mopans prevail due to less rainfall.
Small evergreen forests stretch along the banks of the Kafue River. Kafue is blocked by a dam located outside the park and forms a reservoir in the park.
The pearl of the park are Zambian flood meadows, on which numerous herds of herbivores graze.
