Biography
Evgeny Markov was born in 1769; came from the nobility of the Moscow province .
December 5, 1770 enrolled as a private in the Perm Infantry Regiment .
November 18, 1772 promoted to the rank of officer - ensigns .
September 28, 1779 promoted to lieutenant and transferred to the Semipalatinsk field battalion.
On January 1, 1786, he was assigned to the Kursk Infantry Regiment , promoted to captain .
He began active service on March 3, 1787 , enrolling in the Preobrazhensky regiment of the Guard.
June 18, 1788 produced in seconds-majors . He served on rowing ships in the Dnieper estuary and fought with the Ottoman Turks at Kinburn , also participated in the siege and assault on the fortress of Ochakov where he was wounded in the head.
On March 31, 1792, he was awarded the Order of St. George 4th Class No. 489 "for the excellent courage shown when he took the attack of Ishmael's fortress".
In 1792 he was transferred to the Absheron Musketeers (July 5, 1762 - November 29, 1796 - infantry) regiment. Produced in prime majors .
He fought with the Poles at Gorodishche and Dubenki, in 1794 participated in the capture of Prague .
In 1796 he participated in the siege and storming of the fortress of Derbent , was awarded a golden sword.
April 4, 1798 promoted to colonel , August 16, appointed commander of the Tiflis Musketeer Regiment . From November 26th he was promoted to major general and appointed chief of the Murom Musketeer Regiment , with whom he participated in the Swiss campaign of 1799 as part of the corps of Lieutenant General A. M. Rimsky-Korsakov .
He was captured in the battle of Zurich .
From October 24, 1799 to September 27, 1800, was retired.
On January 27, 1801, appointed by the Ahrensburg commandant.
July 28, 1801 he was appointed commander of the Pskov Musketeer Regiment , with whom he fought the French in 1805 near Krems and Austerlitz [2] .
He participated in the Russian-Prussian-French war of 1806-1807, distinguished himself in the battle of Preussisch-Eylau .
On April 8, 1807, he was awarded the Order of St. George 3rd class No. 148 "in reward of excellent courage and bravery shown in the battle against the French troops on February 4, 1807 at Ostrolenka".
December 12, 1807 for the courage shown in the battle of Friedland , promoted to lieutenant general.
In 1808 he was appointed commander of the 15th Infantry Division, sent to the Moldavian army. In 1809 he was seriously wounded by a canister in his right leg during the unsuccessful assault of Brailov, then he successfully acted under Machin and Babadag.
In 1810, for bravery in the storming of Bazardzhik, he was awarded the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky.
In 1811, he blocked the corps of the vizier near Slobodzeya, repelled all the attacks and attacks of the Turks and forced them to capitulate in 1812 .
October 15, 1811 was awarded the Order of St. George, 2nd class. Number 41 "for the difference in the battle with the Turks on October 1, 1811 under Rushuk."
At the beginning of 1812, he commanded a corps (the Markov Corps, which consisted of the 9th and 15th divisions, and he himself held the position of the head of the division) in the 3rd Reserve Observational Army.
Member of the Patriotic War of 1812 . He participated in the battle on the Berezina and in the pursuit of the retreating French.
In 1813, the commander of the corps in the Polish Army, besieged the fortress of Torgau, then was at the blockade of Hamburg.
After the end of hostilities he was appointed head of the 15th Infantry Division.
On April 13, 1816, he was relieved of command positions and determined to consist of an army.
