About the album
The name of the album is an artificially formed word, similar to the name of the Mexican city of Mexicali , located on the border of Mexico and the United States . The name of the city is formed from the words México and California . Texicali is accordingly formed from the words Texas and California . Obviously, this way the band emphasized that the album La Futura was recorded in two states: in California ( Los Angeles ), where producer Rick Rubin and Texas listened to the album sketches, where the final versions of the songs were recorded.
The album includes the first four songs from the upcoming album La Futura . The album was never released on physical media, and was only available on the iTunes Store and other online media.
The critics agreed that the teaser for the album looks very promising: “listening alone is enough for Texicali to make you wait for the new album” [1] , “with four fast doses of pure Texas blues, they managed to convince the audience that to the category of "downed pilots", is able to create new music in 2012 ".
