History

It was founded in 1880 by Estonian immigrants [2] . The village belonged to the Krasnokutsky volost of the Novouzensk district of the Samara province [3] . According to the List of populated areas of the Samara province of 1910, the population of Goretsky was mixed: the village was inhabited by Russians, Little Russians and Estonians, Orthodox and Protestants, a total of 131 men and 145 women [4]

In 1922, the village was included in the Krasnokutsk canton of the Autonomous Region of the Volga Germans (since 1923 - the Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of the Volga Region ). According to the 1926 census, 266 inhabitants lived in Goretsky, including Germans - 12 [5] . During the period of collectivization, the collective farm named after the Comintern was organized [3]

On August 28, 1941, a Decree of the Presidium of the USSR Armed Forces on the resettlement of Germans living in the Volga region was issued. The German population of the Volga Germans Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was deported . After the liquidation of the German Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, the Volga region Goretskoye, like other settlements of the Krasnokutsk canton , was included in the Saratov region .

In 1955, the collective farms "Progress" ( Lavrovka village) and the name of the Comintern merged into one farm with a central estate in the village of Lavrovka with the name of the collective farm named after the Comintern (liquidated in 2000) [3] .

Physico-geographical characteristics

The village is located in the Low Volga region , within the Syrt Plain , belonging to the East European Plain , between the ponds in the upper gully (tributary of the Gashon River), at an altitude of about 75 meters above sea level [6] . The soils are chestnut solonetzic and solonchak soils [7] .

By road, the distance to the regional center of Krasny Kut is 21 km, to the regional center of Saratov - 140 km, to the village of Lavrovka - 15 km [8] .
