Biography
The son of Alexander D'Alton , a military leader, lieutenant general , participant in the revolutionary and Napoleonic wars, whose name is embossed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris .
He followed in his father's footsteps, graduated from the Saint-Cyr Special Military School . From 1838 to 1842 he participated in the Algerian campaign of France , and was wounded in the battle of Medea .
In 1845 he received the rank of captain of the infantry, in 1853 - lieutenant colonel . In 1855 - with the rank of colonel, he was appointed commander of the 2nd regiment of foot grenadiers of the Imperial Guard (2e Régiment de Grenadiers-à-Pied de la Garde Imperiale), with whom he participated in the Crimean War in 1855-1856.
In 1859 he became a brigadier general . In 1866, due to illness, dismissed from the army. He lived in a nursing home.
He died the same year. He was buried in Paris at the Pere Lachaise cemetery .
