Biography

He graduated from Oksinsky high school [1] . Since 1933 he lived in Naryan-Mar . In 1942-1943 - a sailor of hydrographic ships of the Pechora-Novaya Zemlya hydrographic region of the Northern Fleet. In 1943-1944 - the assistant to the captain, and then the captain of the Pechora MRS. In 1944-1946 he was a sailor, and then the navigator of a minesweeper of the Murmansk base of a militarized trawl fleet. In 1949 he graduated from the Sevastopol Naval Academy , in 1955 - the navigational faculty of the Higher Special Officer Classes of the Navy . In 1950 - the navigator of the detachment of the Arkhangelsk Sea Expedition for escorting river vessels to Siberia. In 1950-1954 - navigator, assistant commander, minesweeper commander, divisional navigator of the torpedo boat division. In 1956-1965 - chief of staff of the division of minesweepers of the Northern Fleet . In 1965-1969, he was the commander of the missile-testing complex of nuclear missile submarines. In the years 1969-1979 - the head of the Mariupol model maritime school. Secretary of the Mariupol City Council for Mass Defense. From 1985 to 1987 - the founder and first director of the museum Fyodor Abramov in the writer's homeland in the village of Verkola [2] . The author of the project of the museum of the settlement Pustozersk (1989, the project was not implemented). Initiator of the creation of the Pustozersk Museum-Reserve [3]

Since 1989 - Chairman of the Board of the Mariupol Historical and Patriotic Club "Homeland". The initiator of the conclusion of an agreement on twinning the cities of Naryan-Mar and Mariupol in 1992.

Ivan Prosvirnin died on March 26, 2006, at the age of 78. He was buried at the Starokrymsky cemetery of Mariupol.

Expeditions

For 30 years after the resignation, Prosvirnin organized more than a hundred expeditions on boats, yachts, and boats along the Azov-Black Sea coast and Northwest Russia [4] . In 1978, a trip on the Patriot bot from Mariupol to Severodvinsk . In July 1981, the head of the expedition "Pechora-81" to the origins of Pechora . The expedition found a spring giving rise to the Pechora River. At the initiative of Prosvirnin, a commemorative cast-iron plaque was installed in this place with the inscription "From here begins the great northern Pechora River."

In 1984, Prosvipnin led the yacht transition from the Azov to the White Sea with the delivery of commemorative cast-iron stove in honor of the 400th anniversary of Arkhangelsk .

In 1991-1992, he was the head of the Ushkuiki expedition along the rivers: Volkhov - Svir - Onega - Northern Dvina - Pinega - Kuloi - Mezen - Tsilma - Pechora [5] .
