Alpan (mythology)

Alpan - the Divine - the god of justice, fire and lightning of the ancient Lezghin-speaking peoples.

Alpan is the god of justice and fire. In ancient times, it appeared as a god who followed the public behavior of people and punished them for their sins. Later combined with the cult of the leader and leader of the Lezgin-speaking tribes of the legendary Alup.

The worship of God Alpana had very ancient roots in the territory of Alpania (Caucasian Albania). Alpan restored balance and justice in society and the outside world. Eagle and fire lightning were his attributes. Lightning in translation from Lezghin means - "Alpandin tsai" - that is, Alpana fire. In colloquial speech, Lezgins still have curses to this day - the literal translation is (“Let Alpan strike you!”) And

("Let Alpana fire hit you!"). [1] .

"The meeting of the Great Council (Gyili-Gyilab) of the gods is described in detail in the myths: the Great Ra sits on a white throne (tӏama). To his right, a step below, they sit on their thrones, according to pativa (etaw) - etiquette determining the place of everyone in the hierarchy of power, justice god Alpan, god of earth Gene, fertility goddess, maternal and children defender Archan, god - toiler Tarlas. On the left, according to Pativ, the god of secrets and wisdom, Varz, the goddess of beauty and love, Yargyi Rush - Men, the god of rain Gudul, and the goddess Alpab, are sitting on their thrones [2] ."
"Lezghian mythology asserts that this hierarchy is undoubtedly fair, because the Great Ra ordered it so. And what is justice, only Alpan, the god of justice, knows, for it is he who personifies the concept of justice [2] ."

The name of the god Alpana was the name of the ancient Lezghin-speaking country and was called “Alpania” and not Caucasian Albania. To call Alpania Albania was a gross mistake made by most historians. To avoid confusion with the state of Albania, the prefix "Caucasian" was added. Hence the incomprehensible conclusions and the search for kinship between the Lezgin-speaking peoples and the Albanians.

Similarly, the country of Athens in the territory of modern Greece was named after the goddess Athena. Or, more precisely, the city-state of Athens formed around the Acropolis of Athens. It does not matter to go into details, the essence is the same and it is obvious.

According to many historians and researchers, as well as Zabit Rizvanovich and Rizvan Rizvanov, the theponym "Alpan" is an integral part of many geographical names and is reflected, for example, in the names of the villages of Alpan, Alpaut, Alps in areas inhabited by Lezgins in Azerbaijan [3] .

Here you can also include such words as the Alpine Mountains, the Alps (Alps), Mount Olympus, Alpha.

It can be seen that the ancient Greek priesthood was advantageous to call Alpania Albania, and Alpan to be called Zeus, otherwise there would be many questions that could cast doubt on the whole ancient Greek religion.
And it's not even the names of the gods. According to legends, the pagan gods had large families, many descendants, in this connection Thor, Zeus, Alpan and other Thunderers may be different personalities. But the Greeks wanted to unite everything, calling the gods of other nations the names of their gods, for example, even Artemis were dozens, among whom the Georgian goddess is the patroness of hunters Delia ( Dali ). In the end, it turned against the Greeks themselves.
