Ain al-Sharqiyah ( Arabic: عين الشرقية ) is a small city in northwestern Syria located in the Latakia governorate. Included in the Jabla area. It is the administrative center of the same name Nakhia.

Geographical position
The city is located in the southern part of the governorate, west of the Ansaria mountain range, at an altitude of 288 meters above sea level [1] .
Ain al-Sharqiya is located approximately 31 kilometers southeast of the city of Latakia , the provincial capital, and 194 kilometers north-northwest (NNW) from Damascus , the country's capital.
Population
According to the official census of 2004, the population of the city was 2359 people [2] . Alavites predominate in the confessional composition of the population [3] .
Transportation
The nearest civilian airport is Basil Al-Assad International Airport [1] .
